2019 National Capital Chapter ACI
Excellence in Concrete Construction Project Awards

Call for Entry:

The National Capital Chapter ACI is pleased to announce its 2019 Exposing Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards program that honors the visions of some of the most creative projects the concrete industry has to offer in our region.  Concrete projects of all types are eligible to receive an award in this competition.  Entries will be judged by an independent panel of industry professionals.  There is no limit on the number of projects that may be submitted.

Eligibility:

Projects must be substantially completed between January 2017 and September 2019. 

Project must be located in the following areas:

-       Washington , DC                -   Prince George’s County

-       Loudoun County                -   Arlington County

-       Montgomery County          -   Prince William County

-       Fairfax County                  -   Alexandria

Categories:

Entries are invited in the following categories:

• Low-Rise Building, Up to Three Stories
• • Residential (multi-family and houses), schools, commercial, warehouse and industrial, etc.)
• Mid-Rise Building, 4 to 15 Stories
• High-Rise Building, More than 15 Stories
• Infrastructure
• • Bridges, site structures, water resource structures, marine structures, other transportation structures
• Decorative Concrete
• • Counters, furniture, exterior and interior finishes, ornamentation, etc.
• Repair and Restoration

• Note that additional categories may be added at the judges’ discretion depending on the types of entries received

Judging Criteria: 

Judging will be based on architectural merit, engineering merit, creativity, innovative construction techniques or solutions, innovative use of materials, ingenuity, sustainability and resilience, and functionality and end use suitability.  The judges' panel will be composed of representatives from all aspects of the concrete construction industry.

Awards Presentation:

Winners will be notified by October 31, 2019. The awards presentation will be made at the National Capital Chapter's Awards Banquet to be held on November 12, 2019.
